Why We Walk-n-Talk?

The Walk-n-Talk event is both active and educational. As we walk together, we will discuss the crucial topic of organ donation and the importance of communicating your wishes with your loved ones. By doing so, we can ensure that more lives are saved through organ transplants.

This year, we are focusing our fundraising efforts in three critical areas:

  • In London, Ontario: Funds raised will go towards further support of the ARP program at London Health Sciences Centre. Move For Life Foundation purchased the equipment to help in this transformative procedure that will allow more organs be viable for organ transplant. This procedure has been used for 14 organ transplants in 2024/2025. Further support will assist the programming with training, resources, and materials.

  • In Vaughan, Ontario: Funds raised will support Camp Fire Circle, a unique summer camp experience for children living with organ transplants and organ failure. Your contributions help send these children to camp, offering them a magical environment where they can connect with others, build confidence, and enjoy a memorable summer—all at no cost to their families.

  • In Saskatoon and Regina, Saskatchewan: The funds raised go directly to our Andre Puetz Family Grant, which assists Saskatchewan families facing the financial strain of relocating to Edmonton, Alberta, for their child’s organ transplant and care. Your support will cover essential costs such as transportation, accommodation, and daily living expenses, easing their burden during a challenging time.

The Walk-n-Talk

The purpose of walk was being active, but also to take time and discuss why it is important to #talktoyourfamily about your wishes to donate your organs. By talking to your family about organ transplantation and your wishes to save lives will improve the chances that your family will carry out your wishes to graciously donate your organs to someone in need.
